ST ANDREW'S SUMMER CONCERT
Wednesday June 10th 2009. Thirty three of our fifty keyboard students will be performing in the Summer Spectacular Show performing 'Hits From The Shows' along with the choir and other instrumentalists. Should be great fun. Tickets available from school.
PIANO OR KEYBOARD
What is the difference? One of the main differences is the left hand. With the keyboard, the left hand follows chord symbols (like guitar chords) rather than individual notes and relies heavily on the automatic functions of the keyboard. Great fun, with immediate results. However, as the keyboard student progresses they often find this style of playing limiting and they gradually transfer to the piano. With the piano, the technical demands of the left hand are as challenging as the right hand and much more attention to detail and technique is required. There is also a vast range of repertoire available to the piano student.
